Cardiovascular Boards Information

Cardiovascular Disease certification is offered through the American Board of Internal Medicine. The ABIM website offers important exam information such as dates, fees, and a content outline. The site also offers a 30-minute tutorial, which ABIM recommends taking in order to: 

  • View the exam interface
  • Practice using the exam features including notes, strikethrough, and highlight
  • Access exam resources including tables of normal laboratory values
  • Mark questions for review and gain familiarity with the navigator functionality
  • Become aware of exam-specific innovations

The ACC website offers information for the In-Training Exam.

CardiosourcePlus

CardioSource Plus provides access to the American College of Cardiology's online educational resources. This resource requires free personal registration in order to access certain content and several premium services require an additional fee. ACCEL and JACC are not available through our subscription, however JACC is available through the Sladen journal list. Having issues accessing CardioSource Plus? Cardiovascular in BoardVitals

BoardVitals is an online exam review tool that gives you access to high quality Cardiovascular board review questions with detailed answers to help you prepare for the certification exams. The Cardiology boards practice questions follow the exam content outline for the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Cardiovascular Disease Certification Exam and the American College of Cardiology In-Training Exam (ACC-ITE). Follow these instructions to set-up your account and start reviewing!

Registration

  1. The first time logging in, go to BoardVitals New User Registration to begin registering for an account.
  2. You must use your HFHS email address to create the account! This is how they know you're part of our subscription. (Your password can be anything you wish.) 
  3. You'll receive an email to verify your account. Click the verification link in the email, then log into BoardVitals with the credentials you just created. If you have used BoardVitals in the past, you may need to clear your browser cache in order to update the question banks that are available to you. 

Using the ABA Question Bank

  1. Login to BoardVitals https://www.boardvitals.com/users/sign_in#
    1. From the BoardVitals homepage, DO NOT fill in the "occupation" and "Exam" dropdowns to locate the Question Banks. Instead, click on "My Dashboard" in the top right corner.
    2. From your Dashboard, choose the desired Question Bank from the dropdown in the dark blue toolbar at the top of the page.
  2. The following are including in BoardVitals:

    • Cardiology MOC
    • Echocardiography
