Geriatric Medicine certification information

The ABIM develops and administers the subspecialty certification examination in Geriatric Medicine, while The American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) is responsible for credentialing its candidates and notifying them of their examination results. The American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine also offers a Geriatric subspecialty certification.

Geriatric Medicine in BoardVitals

BoardVitals is an online exam review tool that gives you access to high quality Geriatric Medicine board review questions with detailed answers to help you prepare for the certification exams.  The Geriatric Medicine question bank follows the exam content outline for the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Geriatric Medicine Certification Exam. Follow these instructions to set-up your account and start reviewing!

Registration

  1. The first time logging in, go to BoardVitals New User Registration to begin registering for an account. Click on Register in top right corner.
  2. You must use your HFH email address to create the account! This is how they know you're part of our subscription. (Your password can be anything you wish.) 
  3. You'll receive an email to verify your account. Click the verification link in the email, then log into BoardVitals with the credentials you just created. If you have used BoardVitals in the past, you may need to clear your browser cache in order to update the question banks that are available to you. 

Using the ABA Question Bank

  1. Login to BoardVitals https://www.boardvitals.com/users/sign_in#
  2. From your Dashboard, choose the desired Question Bank from the dropdown in the dark blue toolbar at the top of the page.
