Sports Medicine Certification Information

The American Board of Family Medicine offers a Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Sports Medicine. This CAQ is designed to recognize excellence among those Diplomates whose practices emphasize expertise in the Sports Medicine field. The CAQ in Sports Medicine is offered twice annually in conjunction with the American Board of Emergency Medicine, the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

The American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians also offers a CAQ in Sports Medicine.

Sport Medicine in Board Vitals

BoardVitals is an online exam review tool that gives you access to more than 500 Sports Medicine board review practice questions with detailed explanations for correct and incorrect responses. Follow these instructions to set-up your account and start reviewing!

Registration

  1. The first time logging in, go to https://www.boardvitals.com/users/sign_up# to begin registering for an account.
  2. You must use your HFHS email address to create the account! This is how they know you're part of our subscription. (Your password can be anything you wish.) 
  3. You'll receive an email to verify your account. Click the verification link in the email, then log into BoardVitals with the credentials you just created. 

Using the Question Bank

  1. When you login you'll see a complete alphabetical list of all the Question Banks available to HFHS users.
  2. Scroll down to Sports Medicine and click the green GO button. 
  3. From the next page you're able to customize what subjects in Sports Medicine you wish to review at the moment. Select your preferences and start reviewing!
