Emergency Medicine Boards Information

Emergency Medicine certification is available through the following organizations. Their respective web pages offer helpful exam information such as sample questions, content outlines, important dates, fees and registration information. Be sure to check eligibility requirements to see which exam certification is right for you.

ABEM offers a variety of other subspecialty certifications, often offered in conjunction with other member boards: Anesthesiology Critical Care MedicineEMSHospice and Palliative Care, Internal Medicine-Critical Care Medicine, Medical Toxicology, Pain Medicine, Sports Medicine, and Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine.

Emergency Medicine Exam Review Resources

BoardVitals is an online exam review tool that gives you access to more than 1800 high quality Emergency Medicine board review questions with detailed answers to help you prepare for the certification exams. Follow these instructions to set-up your account and start reviewing!

Registration

  1. The first time logging in, go to https://www.boardvitals.com/users/sign_up# to begin registering for an account.
  2. You must use your HFHS email address to create the account! This is how they know you're part of our subscription. (Your password can be anything you wish.) 
  3. You'll receive an email to verify your account. Click the verification link in the email, then log into BoardVitals with the credentials you just created. If you have used BoardVitals in the past, you may need to clear your browser cache in order to update the question banks that are available to you. 

Using the Question Bank

  1. Login to BoardVitals https://www.boardvitals.com/users/sign_in#
    1. From the BoardVitals homepage, DO NOT fill in the "occupation" and "Exam" dropdowns to locate the Question Banks. Instead, click on "My Dashboard" in the top right corner.
    2. From your Dashboard, choose the desired Question Bank from the dropdown in the dark blue toolbar at the top of the page.
