The Sladen Library serves as Henry Ford Health's gateway to over 4,500 electronic journals, more than 3,600 electronic books, and an array of databases that support the teaching, research, and clinical practice missions of the health system.
The Henry Ford Health library system is comprised of four hospital libraries – our flagship location in Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit; Henry Ford Macomb Hospital; Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital; Henry Ford Jackson Hospital – and our corporate historical archives, the Conrad R. Lam Archives.
The Sladen Library is located on the 17th floor of Henry Ford Hospital’s Clinic Building. This Library location is open Monday-Friday and provides a comfortable, quiet place for study; work tables; study carrels; a training room; a circulating book collection; 12 employee computer workstations; reservable rooms for small group work or meetings; and a space for consulting with library staff.
The Library website provides 24/7 access to our extensive collection of online medical resources. Online access to library resources is reserved for Henry Ford Health team members.
The Sladen Library location serves the employees and affiliated users of Henry Ford Hospital - Detroit, HF West Bloomfield, Kingswood, the Medical Centers, One Ford Place, New Center One, and HAP. For all other hospital locations (HF Macomb, HF Wyandotte, HF Jackson), please refer to your on-campus library for assistance.
The Sladen Library is named for Dr. Frank J. Sladen, the first Physician-in-Chief of Henry Ford Hospital. Read more about the history of the Sladen Library here.
