About the Chat with a Sladen Librarian Service
Hours
- The Sladen Library Chat Reference Service is available to take questions during reference desk hours, 8:30am - 4:00pm Monday-Friday. After hours, you may contact the library by emailing sladen@hfhs.org. You will receive a response within the next business day.
Scope
- This service is primarily intended for Henry Ford Health employees, staff, and students. If you are not affiliated with Henry Ford Health, we will reply to your question if it relates to resources and services unique to the Sladen Library.
- Extensive research questions may best be answered off-chat. We may ask to contact you via phone, email, or another manner that better suits providing you with the best answer to your question.
- Sladen Chat will not send full-text articles to users unless Henry Ford Health affiliation is verified.
Acceptable Behavior
- A chat session may be terminated and a user may be blocked if the service is abused. This includes the use of inappropriate or rude language, harassment, repeated off-topic questions, or other misuse of the service.
Privacy Policy
- Transcripts of chat sessions may be collected for the purposes of quality control and obtaining statistical data.
