Health Statistics

The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) is a not-for-profit association representing all 141 accredited U.S. and 17 accredited Canadian medical schools; nearly 400 major teaching hospitals and health systems, including 51 Department of Veterans Affairs medical centers; and 90 academic and scientific societies. It collects data and reports on topics such as compensation, diversity, residency, medical school students, etc.

The National Center supports and encourages the collection and analysis of health workforce data by states, health professions organizations and other groups in both the private and public sectors

The Area Health Resource File is a collection of data from more than 50 sources and includes data related to: Health Facilities, Hospital Utilization, Hospital Expenditures, and Health Care Professions.

A global look at health worker gaps. The Global Health Workforce Alliance completed its ten-year mandate on May 15, 2016 and has transitioned into the Global Health Workforce Network.

Provides statistics about active physicians and physicians in training in the specialties with the largest number of active physicians (i.e.,specialties with more than 2,500 active physicians) in the United States.
