This guide is intended to provide information for locating health statistics (data) at the local, state and national levels.

These health statistic gateways are umbrella sites that bring together large amounts of data from many sources and on many topics.

  • GHDx - Global Health Data Exchange (IHME) - IHME provides rigorous and comparable measurement of the world's most important health problems and evaluates the strategies used to address them
  • NationMaster - Economic and demographic indicators, across 300 industry verticals, for market sizing and trends
  • UNdata (United Nations) - Search and download a variety of statistical resources compiled by the United Nations (UN) statistical system and other international agencies, such as population, life expectation and mortality, education, crime, health personnel and expenditure

  • The World Bank World Development Indicators - The primary World Bank collection of development indicators, compiled from officially-recognized international sources. It presents the most current and accurate global development data available, and includes national, regional and global estimates
  • WHO Global Health Observatory (GHO) data - WHO's gateway to health-related statistics for its 194 Member States. It provides access to over 1000 indicators on priority health topics
