If you've been on the fence about updating from EndNote X9 or 20, here are some of the new features available in EndNote 21.
What's New in EndNote 21?
Tags: New customizable, colored labels can be used to tag your references for quick and easily visible organization of references. A new "My Tags" group appears on the left-side navigation panel. Multiple tags can be used for any reference. Up to seven colors are available for tagging (tags can use the same colors, so you are not limited to only seven tags). Tags are also visible by anyone that you share your library with.
New Restoration Options: EndNote 21 provides you with a single reference restoration that allows you to view the previous versions of an individual reference and roll back to one of those versions (available in the Edit tab on the right-side panel). Library restoration is also available to restore your library and library structure from a previously synced version.
Upgraded EndNote Web Interface: EndNote 21 comes with an upgraded EndNote Web interface that more closely mimics the desktop version. After you have installed EndNote 21 on your computer, you can sign up for a new EndNote Web account or transition your existing account to the new interface by simply using the Syncing function (see page 12 of EndNote 21: A Quick Guide). Note: The new interface will be available to EndNote 21 users for three years from the activation date.
Google Cite While You Write (CWYW): EndNote 21 is now compatible with Google Docs. The EndNote 21 CWYW feature is now available in the Google Workspace Marketplace and integrates with your EndNote 21 Web Account. See this article for more information. Note: You will need to install EndNote 21 on a desktop computer and register for an EndNote 21 Web account prior to using Endnote in Google Docs.
