To-Do's

Meet with EBP team members to review and appraise the literature
Determine if there's enough evidence to initiate an evidence-based practice change (see HFH EBP Model-Step 1)
Review any baseline hospital data that's available and related to project
Discuss anticipated outcomes
Begin the IRB process (Step 8). It can take 2-4 weeks to process the IRB application--start early!

Points to Ponder

  • Articles can be divided between team members to read and provide summary for the group. It saves time if everyone doesn't have to read every article.
  • Consult with CNS or Nurse Researcher to determine if proposed project is EBP or Research.
