Meet with EBP team members to review and appraise the literature
Determine if there's enough evidence to initiate an evidence-based practice change (see HFH EBP Model-Step 1)
Review any baseline hospital data that's available and related to project
Discuss anticipated outcomes
Begin the IRB process (Step 8). It can take 2-4 weeks to process the IRB application--start early!

Articles can be divided between team members to read and provide summary for the group. It saves time if everyone doesn't have to read every article.
Consult with CNS or Nurse Researcher to determine if proposed project is EBP or Research.
