Remote Access

by Joe Escribano on 2018-06-01T00:00:00-04:00 in Sladen Services | 0 Comments

The Sladen Library provides electronic access to databases, journals and eBooks, and also to request/retrieve materials not owned by us through ILLiad, our document delivery service through the Internet.

First of all, to use any of our provided resources, you must use the links from the Sladen Library homepage. Access to Sladen resources does not require VPN or HFHS Corporate Remote Access (http://lightaccess.hfhs.org).

The links on the Sladen website have embedded coding that determines whether or not you are accessing a resource from within the HFHS network. Even PubMed has a specific URL that links to e-resources that Sladen can provide. At practically all HFHS work sites, except HAP, access to Sladen resources is seamless and do not require authentication via ID/password while on the HFHS intranet.

If you are outside the HFHS intranet or at HAP, you will be challenged to login with your HFHS Outlook ID/password. Note: if you received a reminder to change your HFHS password, you must change that prior to gaining remote access—this is a known problem that prevents access.

After successfully logging in, you will have access to our resources as if you were onsite.

If you do not have an HFHS Outlook ID/password, you can apply for an alternate ID/password directly through the Sladen Library. Please complete the Sladen Library Registration Form, and once we verify your affiliation, we will grant access and notify you.
