Education & Training

The Sladen Library & Center for Health Information Resources provides instruction for Sladen Library resources.  Training is provided in multiple formats and can be customized to your needs.  To plan or schedule a workshop, orientation session, demonstration, or a one-on-one consultation, please contact Stephanie Stebens at ssteben1@hfhs.org or call (313) 916-2550.


To register for one of Sladen Library's regularly scheduled training sessions, go to the Sladen Library Training Session page or see the calendar listed below.  Any of the sessions that appear in yellow below are available for enrollment.  Simply click on the session and you will be directed to a description and registration page.  Class sizes are limited to 10 participants, so register early.

Manuscript Preparation Services

The Sladen Library offers FREE manuscript preparation assistance for HFHS employees.

Manuscript preparation services cover many types of documents such as journal articles, book chapters, grants, dissertations, and CVs.

Librarians will provide support with:

  • Verifying citations
  • Updating references within MS Word documents
  • Creating specific citation styles for your publication, presentation, grant, cv, and more
  • Grammar checking
  • Meeting specific style guidelines required by the journal 

Please note: there is a minimum 1 week turnaround time for this service.
