A collection of helpful medical resources and apps optimized for use on a smartphone or mobile device.

HFHS Subscription Access - Mobile Drug Resources

  1. If you already have a ClinicalKey or ClinicalKey for Nursing account, you can use that to login to this app. If you don't, start by going to Clinical Pharmacology from the link on the Sladen Library website and click on Register in the top right corner of the page to create a personal account. You must use your HFHS email address when you create your account. If you do not have an "@hfhs.org" or "@allegiancehealth.org" email (for example, Radiology or HAP employees), contact jkrzemi1@hfhs.org
  2. Next, register your account for remote access by going to https://www.clinicalkey.com/pharmacology/user/remote-access and follow the prompts to complete that process. Elsevier will send you an activation email, you must click the link in the email within one hour. 
  3. Finally, go to your app store and download the Clinical Pharmacology app onto your device (it may be called Elsevier Clinical Pharmacology). Login with the username and password you created in the first step. Tip: Your username is your full Henry Ford Health email address with the "@hfhs.org" included.

Size of the download! So that it can be used without access to the Internet, this app downloads a full copy (currently around 1.8 GB) of the database onto your device. Make sure you are willing and able to use up that much space on your device before downloading. Data updates occur once per day, and you can select how these occur, either over wi-fi or cellular, in the app settings. To save on your network data plan, keep the "Update Over Cellular" option in Settings turned off.

  1. Download the free Micromedex Drug Ref app from your app store.
  2. The first time you open the app on your device, you’ll be required to enter in a password for Henry Ford Health users. To obtain this password, go to Micromedex from the link on the Sladen Library website, then click on the gray “Download Mobile Apps” box found in the lower right portion of the Micromedex homepage.
  3. The password you need to enter is located in Step 4 under Micromedex Drug Ref.

Passwords are updated annually. When prompted, revisit the Micromedex page from the Sladen link for the new password. Occasionally the app will ask you to re-enter the password before the one year deadline. Just return to the Micromedex site for the password.

  1. Download the Micromedex Drug Int app from your app store.
  2. The first time you open the app on your device, you'll have to activate it by entering the password for Henry Ford Health users. To get the password, go to Micromedex from the link on the Sladen Library website. From the Micromedex homepage, click on the gray "Download Mobile Apps" box in the lower right hand portion of the page.
  3. In the section for Micromedex Drug Interactions, the password is located in Step 4.

This app provides access to Trissel's 2 IV Compatibility; including Y-Site, Admixture, and Solutions results from the Trissel's 2 database.

  1. Download the Micromedex IV Comp app from your app store.
  2. The first time you open the app on your device, you'll have to activate it by entering the password for Henry Ford Health users. To get the password, go to Micromedex from the link on the Sladen Library website. From the Micromedex homepage, click on the gray "Download Mobile Apps" box in the lower right hand portion of the page.
  3. In the section under Micromedex IV Compatibility, the password is located in Step 4.

This app provides access to NeoFax, a drug reference designed to assist clinicians with safety dosing, prescribing, calculating, and administering drug therapy to neonates.  

  1. Download the Micromedex NeoFax app from your app store.
  2. The first time you open the app on your device, you'll have to activate it by entering the password for Henry Ford Health users. To get the password, go to Micromedex from the link on the Sladen Library website. From the Micromedex homepage, click on the gray "Download Mobile Apps" box in the lower right hand portion of the page.
  3. In the section under Micromedex NeoFax, the password is located in Step 4.

This app provides access to Micromedex Pediatrics, a reliable resource for on-the-go access to evidence-based drug information to efficiently and safely manage drug therapy for pediatric patients.

  1. Download the Micromedex Pediatrics app from your app store.
  2. The first time you open the app on your device, you'll have to activate it by entering the password for Henry Ford Health users. To get the password, go to Micromedex from the link on the Sladen Library website. From the Micromedex homepage, click on the gray "Download Mobile Apps" box in the lower right hand portion of the page.
  3. In the section under Micromedex Pediatrics, the password is located in Step 4.
