Access the full-text of many of Sladen's journals in a format optimized for reading on a mobile device.

1) To begin using BrowZine, download the free BrowZine app from your app store. BrowZine is available for:

  • All iPads, iPhones, and iPod Touches with iOS v11+
  • Android smartphones and tablets with OS v5+
  • Kindle Fire OS 5+

2) When initially launching BrowZine, select "Henry Ford Health System" from the "Choose Library" drop down list

3) Log-in with your Henry Ford Health Network User Name and Password (same as your Henry Ford Health CORP credentials)

The first time you open BrowZine you will be asked to create a BrowZine account. This is separate from the Henry Ford Health login. A BrowZine account allows you to sync your bookshelves, saved articles, and notifications across all your devices and BrowZine Web. 

 

Features of BrowZine:

  • PDFs of articles open directly within the app
  • Create a bookshelf of your favorite journals for easy access
  • Built-in features for saving, emailing, and sharing articles
  • Notifications can alert you when a journal has new content
  • PDFs can easily be sent to Dropbox, iBooks, or several other document management services 
  • Article citations can be sent to EndNote Web for downloading into an EndNote Library

ClinicalKey Mobile App

ClinicalKey recently updated their mobile app. The browse function has been replaced with a single search box. Content in the app remains the same, it just has to be located through search. Follow the new instructions for access. 

  1. Go to ClinicalKey from the link on the Sladen Library website and click on Register in the top right corner of the page to create a personal account. You must use your Henry Ford Health email address when you create your account. If you do not have an "@hfhs.org" or "@allegiancehealth.org" email (for example, Radiology or HAP employees), contact the Library 313-916-2550.
  2. Next, you have to register your account for remote access by going to https://www.clinicalkey.com/#!/remote-access and follow the prompts to complete that process. Choose your organization as "Hosp Henry Ford - Detroit - WE – Remote Access".  Elsevier will send you an activation email. You must click the link in the email within 60 minutes to complete the process. If you miss the 60 minute window, just repeat Step 2. 
  3. Go to your App Store and download the ClinicalKey app onto your device. 
  4. When you open the app, there are 2 options, "Access via your Institution" or "Access via Network"
    1. If you are on the Henry Ford wifi, you can choose "Access via Network" - and then login with your Henry Ford email and the password you set up in Step #1
    2. If you are off-network choose "Access via Institution" → Choose Henry Ford Hospital as your institution → Enter in your Henry Ford email → The app will send a verification email to your inbox → From your mobile device, open your Henry Ford Outlook email → Click on the verification link that is sent to your email → Allow the link to open in the CK app → Access to app content should be allowed at this point. 

After your first login, your account will stay active for 180 days. Before your 180 days is up, go to ClinicalKey from the Sladen website and login to your personal account to re-up your access.

The following resources provide access to medical books formatted to be read on a mobile display. Please follow the specific set-up instructions for each individual resource.

STAT!Ref App

Access Henry Ford Hospital's STAT!Ref ebook collection on your mobile device. STAT!Ref comes via the TDS Health platform. Follow the steps below to create a free personal account for TDS Health and begin accessing the STAT!Ref books on your mobile device.

  1. Go to STAT!Ref from the Quick Links box on the Sladen Library website
  2. In TDS Health, click on "Profile" located above the search box and click Register to create an account.
  3. Go to the “Welcome” and (your name) drop down located above the search box and select “Anywhere Login Account.” Click the “Activate” button.
  4. Next, from your app store, download the free STAT!Ref app to your device.
  5. Open the app and login with your TDS Health ID and password.

Your mobile ID and password is active for 3 months at a time. To reactivate after 3 months, login to your TDS Health account, revisit the "Anywhere Login Account" tab and click the Renew button.

Access App (AccessMedicine & more)

  1. While on the Henry Ford Health network, go the Access product of your choice from the Quick Links box on the Sladen Library’s website https://henryford.libguides.com/sladen. 
  2. Within the Access product, in the top right corner, click on the "Henry Ford Health" drop-down, then click on "Login or Create a Free Personal Account"
  3. Complete the registration form and create a username and password.
  4. Sign out of your personal account on the desktop.
  5. On your mobile device, download the Access app from your app store: iOS or Android
  6. Login on the app with the username and password you created for your personal account.

Your account is authenticated for 90 days. To re-up your authentication, just login to your Access account while on the Henry Ford Health network.
