New Year, New Resources

In the past year, Sladen Library added a variety of new content that puts timely research in your hands when you need it. Here are a few highlights to check out:

NEJM Catalyst Innovations in Care Delivery, a peer-reviewed journal from NEJM Group, focuses on the latest innovations, big ideas, and practical solutions for health care delivery transformation.

Recent articles include: A Systems Approach to Addressing Covid-19 Health Inequities, Health Care Measurements that Improve Patient Outcomes, and Clinician Burnout Is Only Getting Worse. Here’s How to Tackle the Problem.

 

 

 

 

 

5MinuteConsult is a fully integrated (web, mobile, etc.) digital resource to help guide primary care professionals and clinical students in daily decision support, giving access to the information needed at the point-of-care. It aims to quickly obtain the most likely diagnosis, treatment, and management for thousands of diseases.

 

 

Pocket Medicine, Pocket Emergency Medicine, and Pocket ICU e-books provide fast answers to diagnostic questions users face on rounds and exams. They provide up-to-date, dependable guidance to make an accurate diagnosis and develop treatment plans.

 

 

 

 

 

A few other journals available this year:

  • Genetics - Since 1916, GENETICS has published original research presenting novel findings bearing on genetics and genomics. The journal publishes empirical studies of organisms ranging from microbes to humans, as well as theoretical work.
  • Journal of Nuclear Cardiology - Original articles address all aspects of nuclear cardiology, including interpretation, diagnosis, imaging equipment, and use of radiopharmaceuticals. 
  • Structural Heart - Focused upon diseases of the heart valves, myocardium, pericardium, and great vessels as well as congenital heart disease. Topics covered include diagnostic techniques, percutaneous interventional procedures, cardiovascular surgery, drug treatment, findings from the laboratory, and clinical trials.
