Article Linker is a time-saving tool that allows you to quickly check the availability of an article in the Sladen Library's online or paper holdings. This is especially helpful if you have a citation in hand, or are working from a bibliography or reading list.
If the article is available online, Article Linker will provide full text links. If the Library does not own the article, you have the option of ordering a copy through ILLiad (for HFH users), or by using the article request form for your affiliated location.
2. How do I use Article Linker?
For Article Linker to link directly to your article, you must include these 3 elements:
-OR-
The more information you enter, the closer you will get to the full text. For example, entering in the journal title, volume, issue, and page numbers will lead directly to the full text link for your specific article. Whereas just entering the journal title will take you to the journal's homepage. You still work your way to the article you need, but it will take a few more clicks.
3. I have entered all the necessary information, why am I not able to get directly to the article?
Sometimes the journal publisher does not enable direct linking to the article. If you reach the journal home page or table of contents, you can still work your way to the article, but it will take a few more clicks.
4. Why didn't I get a full text link to the article?
Either the Sladen Library does not own a subscription to the journal, or the article isn't available online. You may order a copy using the article request links for your affiliated hospital via the Find It @ Sladen menu.
5. Why am I not able to find a particular article?
There can be a few reasons.
6. I have more questions, how can I get help?
Please feel free to contact the Sladen Library with any questions or problems.
